Rufus Haddock 75th Birthday Party and Reunion

An event of interest to him many relatives and friends was the family reunion called by Mr. Rufus Haddock at his old home at Lessie, about forty miles from Jacksonville, for Sunday in the form of an all-day picnic party.

Mr. Haddock is 75 years of age, and was born in the vicinity of Lessie, where he has passed the greater part of his life. He is a retired farmer and has numberless friends throughout this section who will be interested in his family reunion.

The members of the family assembled in the forenoon. An elaborate basket dinner was served picnic fashion at 1 o’clock, and the afternoon was spent in conversation and informal entertainment.

At 5 o’clock a picnic supper was served, following which members of the party departed for their homes.

Two of Mr. Haddock’s sisters, Mrs. Nora Conner of St. Augustine and Mrs. Marjorie Vanzant of Lessie were present.

The host’s eight living children, twenty-seven grand children and eleven great-grandchildren were present.
